History

Our cloud computing service has made tremendous progress recently. Asia University initiated the first Teaching Cloud in Taiwan in 2010. A working cloud platform, Office Information Communication and Collection (OiC), with the functionalities of information integration and knowledge management was launched in 2012, it was a new information services system built on an IT-centric operation model, and offering a paperless administration environment. At a cost of 20 million NT dollars and after over a year, the Asia University Cloud Computing Center was officially opened on April 24, 2013. The design of the Center takes into consideration the use of green energy and the operation is highly reliable. It not only provides high-quality information services, but also has energy saving and environmental protection as its operational goals. The Center was reported by Taiwan Public Television Service (PTS Taiwan) TV Station in a program, Our Island, covering the topic of Energy Saving. In 2014, Asia University became the first university, in central Taiwan, whose network was connected to the Taichung Network Regional Center (TCRC) with a double-loop network structure and provided high-quality high-bandwidth internet services. The Center built an integrated administration system and cloud mobile services, AU Campus APPs, in 2015. In the same year, a more flexible system, the Moodle platform, was imported as a unique digital teaching platform to create an "effective learning, collaborative teaching, work smarter" intelligent campus environment.
